One of my newest projects is a food blog, called CircleofFood.com. A Food Blog, Marketplace, Food Events Calendar. It's been a nice collaborative experience with a designer and copywriter in a joint venture. Also it's been great learning experience about the world of blogs and how to grow/promote them - and yes, make money from them.
What is a blog? A blog is a personal journal (web log) that requires no FTP or HTML coding skills. Using this easy content management tool you can blog anytime and from anywhere. The publishing and reading of blogs are on the rise – not just for personal muse, but in business. There are 80,000 new blogs launched every day – that’s more blogs each day than books published in the US for all of last year! Why are blogs so popular? Blogging also encourages fresh content with 1-to-1 dialogue. So imagine instead of a formal message from the President or CFO on the About Us page – an easy ongoing dialoging blog which brings business to a directly accessible customer service level and puts a “face” or in this case “voice” to the prospective customer. As to content, a blog can be informational, extend a great leador offer, complete with links to the parts of the web site for more information or to make the sale. Short tips, news breaking bites of information, and answering customer’s questions all make good sense for business blogs. Search engines also love blogs because of the perpetual fresh content, laden with keywords and links. Because of all the spam filters and more difficulty in growing enewsletter subscribers, blogs have partially replaced some email marketing efforts. Feel free to contact us with your blog related questions...
